WEEKEND OF FINE ART

            The 17th Annual IN THE PARK WITH ART will be presented by the Cultural Council, Inc. on

Saturday and Sunday, October 27th and 28th, 2007 at the beautiful Coral Reef Park in the Village of

Palmetto Bay, a suburb of Miami. Over 100 artists participate in this juried, award-winning fine art show

that had its inception at the Deering Estate at Cutler. Among the participating artists this year: sculptor Jim

Lewk; oil painters Margarita Vidal and Fred Hunt; pastel artists Jacqueline Roch and Juan Rojas;

watercolorists Phil Capen, Carol Garvin, David Maddern; fine jewelers Javier Baron and Tia Vellani;

photographers John Andersen and Michael Mandell; acrylics by Ben Essenburg, Tony Mendoza and Janet

Mokher; ceramist Craig Williams; wood carver, Lloyd Cheney.

            You will be greeted by the incredible life-size sculptures of the magnificent wildlife by sculptor,

Fred Caravetta, who also designed the advertising poster.  Long-time Miami resident, Eileen Seitz, is the

 artist of the annual commemorative poster.

            Patrons will enjoy the instrumental music of the group AcoustiCon; classical guitarist, Russell

Donnellon; the mellow sounds of the Singing Miamians; and smooth jazz by the Robert Morgan Jazz

Band; there will be great, succulent foods available from dozens of selected vendors. Children will love the face

painting; artistic participation; making crafts under the direction of South Florida Parenting Magazine.

Take home a lovely orchid or a graceful plant.

            Everyone can take a chance at the Showcase of Opportunities tent, where lucky participants can

win a roundtrip for two courtesy of American Airlines; a family weekend at Disney World; fine art

donated by participating artists; wonderful dinners at fine restaurants; a shopping spree.
