A Juried and judged fine art show!
SATURDAY AND SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH ART in 1998 and 1999 was voted the 77th best fine art show among the top 200 fine art shows in the country by Sunshine Artist Publication, an honor of which the volunteer members of the CULTURAL COUNCIL, INC., the organization that presents the show, is most proud to have received.

Due to construction at Fairchild Tropical Garden, the show was discontinued. NOW WE ARE BACK!

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE
REQUIREMENTS YOU NEED TO FOLLOW:
CATEGORIES:
Two-dimensional: All work on paper, canvas or that hang.
Three dimensional: Self-standing sculpture, glass; fine gold and silver jewelry and standing mixed media. Be specific as to your exact medium.

AWARDS:
Best in show...........$700

Three dimensional...$500

CONDITIONS:
All work must be artist's original art. NO commercially purchased art permitted. We reserve the right to examine the art.

ENTRY FEE:
$214.00 payable to: THE CULTURAL COUNCIL, INC., includes $14.00 (7%) Florida State Tax. $25.00 of this is applicable to Jurors' and Judges' fees and is NOT refundable. THERE WILL BE NO REFUND OF ARTIST'S FEE ONCE THE JURORS HAVE ACCEPTED THE ARTIST INTO THE SHOW.

JURYING:
All work will be juried by professionals from four (4) 35mm slides. NO PHOTOS. Slides must be of current work, well photographed, with sharp clear contrasts and professionally mounted. Three (3) slides of the artist's current work indicating THE TOP of the slide and one (1) of the display booth, which must not be in shadow but also clear and sharp. No slides of empty booths (without artwork) will be accepted. If artist brings work that does not meet the specifications, the artist will be required to leave the show.

BOOTH SIZE:
Each space assigned is 10' X 10'. Double spaces will require doubling the entry fee. A booth is required for ALL two dimensional work.

SLIDES:
Slides of empty booths are not acceptable and Artist will not be accepted or entered for jurying until proper booth slide is received. Slides will not be returned until the day of the show after the slides have been compared to the booth display.

SET-UP:
ALL Artists are to set-up on Friday, October 3rd by assigned appointment time, which will be stated in the acceptance letter. The Park closes at 4:00 p.m. on Friday as per our contract. Artist MUST adhere to these requirements or forfeit entry in the show. NO exceptions.

SITE ASSIGNMENTS:
Artists' sites will be indicated on the map that will be part of the kit handed to the Artists upon arrival on Friday.

LIABILITY:
Nothing shall be insured by Cultural Council, Inc., Village of Palmetto Bay, and Miami Dade County.

VEHICLES:
Absolutely NO VEHICLES will be permitted to remain overnight on the Park grounds or side streets.

PETS:
NONE will be permitted on the grounds or inside the artists' vehicle. It is against the law to leave an animal locked up in any vehicle..

SHOW HOURS:
The show opens to the public from 10:00 to 6:00 on Saturday and from 12:00 to 6:00 on Sunday.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:
August 15th /Jurying: August 21,2003.

Upon acceptance by the Jurors, the Artists will receive a letter with time for Friday set-up and other instructions.

ACCEPTANCE:
ACCEPTANCES WILL BE MAILED ON AUGUST 29th, 2003.

ABOUT THE CULTURAL COUNCIL, INC.
This is a non-profit organization made up of volunteer, dues-paying members that dedicate their time to bring cultural events to South Florida. The profits from SATURDAY AND SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH ART and the annual JAZZ UNDER THE STARS concert benefit the Cultural Council's Scholorship Fund for college students studying art and music.
